1 Billion Yuan Project Boosts Sichuan Communications Industry

The People's Government of Wenjiang District, Sichuan Mobile, and the University of Electronic Science and Technology signed the Sichuan Communication Industry Park high-quality Development Cooperation Project Agreement at the main venue of the conference. The three parties will focus on project implementation, industrial development, fund construction, etc., to accelerate the construction of a full-chain communication information industry system of "basic research-technical breakthrough-achievement transformation-industrial ecology", and create a national-level communication technology innovation source and a western communication industry highland.

As an important supporting event of the 2025 China Mobile Industry Investment Ecological Cooperation Conference, the "Mobile Gathering Strength, Industrial Shining Wenjiang" Sichuan Communication Industry Park Investment Promotion Event was held in Wenjiang on July 9. Nearly 100 information and communication, artificial intelligence companies and industry associations gathered in Jinwenjiang to draw a blueprint for the communication industry and jointly start a new chapter in the digital era.

At the meeting, Wenjiang District introduced the strategic positioning, construction planning, and development goals of the Sichuan Communication Industry Park. It is understood that in May this year, the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government decided to build the Sichuan Communications Industrial Park in Wenjiang District, Chengdu. The park is adjacent to the trillion-level electronic information industry cluster, and leading companies such as Huawei and Intel are gathered within a radius of 5 kilometers. The park adopts a "1+N" cooperation and co-construction mechanism, focusing on 5G/6G, satellite communications, optical communications, quantum communications, the Internet of Things and other tracks, and building an "innovation research and development + production and manufacturing" park to create a nationally influential communications industry park.

A centralized project signing ceremony was also held at the event site, with a total of 6 projects signed, with a total investment of 1.08 billion yuan, focusing on information communication, equipment manufacturing, digital economy and other industrial fields. Among them, the China Mobile Communications Product Testing Center project will provide a one-stop solution for optical cable and network cable testing; the Chuangming Technology Electronic Netcom Equipment R&D and Production Center project will focus on the research and development of netcom supporting products such as smart terminals, optical module components, and antenna components, and build a digital and automated product production line.

"Wenjiang District has taken practical measures and achieved practical results in terms of enterprise development and project promotion, which has made us deeply feel the excellent business environment in Wenjiang and made us full of confidence in future development." Liu Yong, Chairman of Sichuan Zhongyi Communication Technology Engineering Co., Ltd., shared his experience in his keynote speech from the perspectives of Wenjiang's support for the project and the process of the company's rooting and growth in Wenjiang.

As one of the main carriers of Sichuan Communications Industrial Park, the Science and Technology Innovation Valley of UESTC introduced the development history, industrial foundation, carrier resources, etc. of the park, and stated that it will continue to rely on the advantages of the electronic information discipline of UESTC, focus on "Chengdian Department, Healthy Source, Core Future", give play to the industry characteristics of alumni enterprises, introduce a number of industry benchmark leading enterprises and core enterprises in stages, cultivate a number of backbone enterprises and start-ups, and help Wenjiang build a "3+6" modern industrial system.
